What we do and why
We estimate the country, age group and gender share of the audiences of creators on TikTok and Instagram, as statistics for market research. Results are reported only in aggregate, never per person.
What data we process
Public profile data of TikTok and Instagram accounts, retrieved through the platforms’ official APIs.
How the data is processed
Each datapoint is analysed temporarily in memory and deleted immediately afterwards. No datapoint is stored
What we store
Only estimated values (age group, gender, country). They are not linked to names or usernames.
How results are reported
Groups are reported only when they contain at least 50 accounts. Persons under 18 are pooled into one combined group. The reported statistics contain no personal data.
Legal basis
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have carried out a legitimate interests assessment and a data protection impact assessment (DPIA).
Where the data comes from
From public TikTok and Instagram profiles. We did not receive it from you directly, and informing each person individually is not practically possible.
Recipients
Personal data is disclosed only to our cloud provider Microsoft (Azure), which hosts our platform and processes the data on our instructions. Processing takes place in data centres within the EU.
How long we keep the data

Your rights
You can object to the processing by writing to info@curemedia.com, marked “Personal data processing”. You can also request access, restriction, erasure and rectification. Because no data is stored, we cannot always link a request to a specific account, so we may ask you to state your TikTok or Instagram account. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
